Panel Discussion: From Finance & Law to a Start-up

We have an exciting update - the panel will be moderated by Josh Frutterman '89.

Josh founded his first start-up, one of the first successful mail order software companies, as an undergrad and has since gone on to build numerous tech ventures in the online music, restaurant marketing, tech enabled services and ed tech spaces.  Josh is also a JD and MBA and now spends most of his time mentoring and advising through various institutions, including Techstars and Enterprise Futures Network.

Are you a finance professional or a lawyer at a financial institution or law firm but want to make the leap to a start-up? This panel will feature 4 alumni (two bankers and two lawyers) who made the jump as they discuss their experiences and paths into the start-up world.

The start-ups represented are at various stages of maturity and in very different industries. There will be plenty of time for Q&A so bring your questions! There will also be time for networking and this is a great way to make some start-up world connections!

Join us to hear their stories and how you can escape the corporate grind!     Panelists include:

Indecent on Broadway with NYC Cornellians and CUGALA

Join NYC Cornellians and CUGALA, Cornell’s LGBT Alumni Association, for Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and alumna Paula Vogel’s (MA ’76, PhD ’16) new play on Broadway. This event will be hosted by Associate Professor of Performing and Media Arts, Sara Warner, and Co-Producer of Indecent, Dana M. Lerner '14. Register today to gain access to the Cornell block, a preview, and post show chat with Professor Warner and Paula Vogel!

INDECENT is the new play with music from Pulitzer Prize-winner Paula Vogel (HOW I LEARNED TO DRIVE), inspired by the true story of the controversial 1923 Broadway debut of Sholem Asch’s GOD OF VENGEANCE about a Jewish family that lives above a brothel, hoping to gain respect by having their daughter marry into a prestigious family. Called “superbly realized and remarkably powerful” by The New York Times and hailed as one of the best plays of the year by critics, INDECENT charts the journey of an incendiary drama and the artists who risked their lives to perform it. Created by Vogel and director Rebecca Taichman (STAGE KISS), INDECENT is set at a time when waves of immigrants were changing the face of America. This play with music is a riveting look at an explosive moment in theatrical history and comes to Broadway from its critically acclaimed, sold-out run at the Vineyard Theatre.
